Privacy Policy
AI Business Lens, operated by Margin of Error Media LLC. Effective September 15, 2026.
This policy explains what personal information AI Business Lens collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. AI Business Lens (the "Service") is operated by Margin of Error Media LLC ("we," "us"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, our authentication provider stores your email address and, if you use a social login, the basic profile it returns. We do not receive or store your Google password. We also store whether you told us you are an instructor or a student, and a count of the materials you generate each month.
- Subscription and billing. If you subscribe, our payment processor collects and stores your payment details. We store a billing customer identifier and your subscription status. We do not store your full card number.
- Email digest. If you sign up for the weekly brief, we store your email address, the disciplines you choose, and your confirmation and unsubscribe status.
- Usage. We keep aggregate, article-level counts (views, materials generated, clicks from the brief) that are not tied to your identity. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and records page views, referrers, and approximate location from your IP address without storing it. Emails we send include a tracking pixel and tracked links so we can see whether the brief was opened and which stories were clicked.
How we use it
- To provide the Service, including sign-in, generation of teaching materials, and account management.
- To send the weekly brief and related account emails you have asked for, and, where applicable, marketing emails you may opt out of at any time.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To maintain security and improve the Service.
Email consent and opt-out
We send the weekly brief only after you confirm your address (double opt-in). Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link and our postal address. Unsubscribing stops all further marketing email from us.
Service providers (subprocessors)
We share data only with the providers that run the Service. Each acts on our behalf as a processor under a data processing agreement, and uses standard contractual clauses where data leaves the EEA or UK. Current list, last reviewed September 15, 2026:
- Supabase (authentication and database; United States). DPA · Privacy
- Stripe (payment processing; United States). DPA · Privacy
- Resend (email delivery; United States). DPA · Privacy
- Google (Gemini API, for generating summaries and teaching materials; United States). We send public article content to this provider, not your personal information. API terms · Privacy
- Google (sign-in with Google; United States). If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and basic profile. Privacy
- ImprovMX (forwarding of mail sent to our addresses, including requests you email us; United States). Privacy
- Vercel (hosting, DNS, and cookieless analytics; United States). DPA · Privacy
We will update this list before adding a provider that handles personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember display preferences such as light or dark mode. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Fonts are served from our own site, so viewing a page sends no request to a font provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing.
- Self-service. If you have an account, open your account panel on the site and use Your data to download a copy of everything we hold about you, or to delete your account. Deletion removes your sign-in, billing profile, and weekly brief signup, and cancels any active subscription, immediately. Any prepaid time is forfeited when an account is deleted. If you only want to stop paying, turn off auto-renew instead: that keeps your access to the end of the paid period.
- By email. For anything else, or if you only receive the weekly brief and have no account, email hello@aibusinesslens.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and in any case within 30 days.
- You can unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in any message.
Data retention
We keep account and subscription information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove it right away, with two exceptions: our payment processor keeps invoice and refund records as required for tax and accounting, and we keep your email address on a do-not-contact list so we never email you again. Weekly brief send history is kept for 60 days so we do not repeat stories, then removed. Published articles rotate on a two-week window.
Children
The Service is intended for adults: educators, students, and other readers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
