AI detects “invisible” signs of pancreatic cancer years before diagnosis

THE AI ANGLE
Detecting early pancreatic cancer signatures on CT scansResearchers built an AI model called REDMOD that detects pancreatic cancer on CT scans over a year before clinical diagnosis. The system traces the organ automatically and analyzes tissue textures that radiologists cannot easily see. This gives clinicians a method to recognize signs of the disease at earlier stages.
THE TEACHING ANGLE
Practitioners must evaluate how to transition this tool from retrospective scans to prospective trials involving diverse ethnic groups and high-risk patients.Read the original at sciencedaily.com Generate teaching or study materials
