🎥 Can Picker AgRobotics’ Dr Octopus-style arms finally crack autonomous fruit harvesting?

THE AI ANGLE
Evaluating fruit ripeness, size, and quality in real timePicker AgRobotics developed a flexible, hollow robotic arm that cuts fruit stems and lets produce roll down a pipe into a bin. The mechanism moves through branches without requiring special tree pruning or rigid grippers. This offers engineers and growers an alternative mechanical design to harvest fruit in existing orchards.
THE TEACHING ANGLE
Students can evaluate whether robotic hardware should adapt to irregular tree shapes or whether orchards should be altered to fit simpler machines.Read the original at agfundernews.com Generate teaching or study materials
