THE AI ANGLE
Operating truck perception, path planning, and driving tasks without a human driverDaimler Truck North America and Torc Robotics are combining redundant chassis design with autonomous driving software into a single system. Torc plans to start commercial freight runs in 2027 and scale operations in 2028. Fleet operators will see autonomous sensors and computers installed directly on the factory assembly line.
THE TEACHING ANGLE
Operations teams must adapt existing manufacturing plants to hit autonomous scaling targets in 2028 before a new dedicated factory opens in 2029.Read the original at freightwaves.com Generate teaching or study materials
