THE AI ANGLE
Designing functional proteins and predicting their 3D structuresGoogle DeepMind created SynthIDBio to embed invisible watermarks into AI-designed protein sequences and 3D structures without altering their biological activity. These markers help verify authenticity and track synthetic designs for biosecurity and copyright purposes. However, common structural relaxation steps can currently erase the 3D watermarks.
THE TEACHING ANGLE
Biological watermarks support biosecurity and copyright enforcement, yet standard structural relaxation can erase the coordinates holding the mark.Read the original at phys.org Generate teaching or study materials
