THE AI ANGLE
Creating discoverable records of human thinking processesCaroline De Cock proposed a legal category called the forum interstitiale to protect human thinking during interactions with AI chatbots. Current law divides absolute inner thought from regulated expression, which leaves recorded prompts and exploratory drafts exposed in court. Her framework shifts constitutional analysis from what the tool is to the cognitive activity of the person using it.
