THE AI ANGLE
Finding bugs and suggesting kernel patchesLinus Torvalds released the first candidate for Linux kernel 7.4, which reached nearly 20,000 commits. He reported that AI-generated work now arrives during the standard merge window instead of disrupting the stabilization phase. Contributors still rewrite many of the patch suggestions generated by AI tools.
