THE AI ANGLE
Driving demand for large-scale power infrastructureDrax signed a £20bn deal to host the UK's largest AI datacentre at its North Yorkshire power plant site. The project plans to use existing grid connections to support more than one gigawatt of capacity by the 2030s. This forces planners and engineers to address growing computing power loads amid grid congestion and statutory carbon limits.
